  2. I think we should have a party where we eat food, and measure things with the metric system. We should measure some food and eat at the same time. We should go outside and measure things that are outside, like a pine cone.

  7. I thin we should play metric system games and learn about it if people don't know what it is. I also think that we should make stuff for it.

  10. To celabrate this event I think we should have a party in class. During the party we can play metric games and learn about National Metric Week.

  12. I think we should do a 10 activity make one up you have to roll dice and get an exact 10 and make a chart

  13. For metric week, we should have to use binary whenever we would use numbers (binary, because it only uses 1's and 0's, and 10 is the basis of the metric system. Somewhat crazy I know).

  16. We should celebrate National Metric Week by using the metric system more than we usually do and also, we could measure everyone using the metric system. Lastly, we could do things like throw something, and measure how far it went in centimeters.

  17. People should celebrate the number 10 by using the number 10 all through the day. Like pancakes in the shape of a 10 or buy 10 of everything.

  18. WE SHOULD MAKE PLAYS ABOUT THE METRIC SYSTEM OR ..... PLAY A GAME WHERE WE EARN DIFFERETN THINGS

  19. i think that we should do a whole day of games/activities that involve the metric system and engineering/building

  20. we should do ten of everything

  29. measure the perimeter of the school outside and see the result in each measurement.

  30. I think we should look at everthing in metrics in and out of science class because it would be a great way to practice converting different measurments.

  31. I think we should do an experiment with a question/ purpose of "do students do better on test whilw listening to music or in complete scilence?"

  32. i think we should map out the perimeter of the school. but also measure it as well? it will be a fun a and exciting lab because people will actually get to be outside and enjoying there self with there friends and partners. we could measure the school while useing these types of measurements...
    meter
    kilometer
    hectometer
    decamtre
    decimeter
    centimeter
    millimeter
idea 2.)or we can also watch some sort of documentery on how the metric system was 1st invented and do a little report on what do you think will happen if the metric system wasn't invented? or like when did the metric system 1st originate from? etc...
idea 3.) or we just celebrate the metric week with some sort of party. the party will a course be themed metrically so i suggest like hats for people in the shape of rules or something to be festive.(drinks and food will probally be supplies by students if you ask nicely.)
i am Matthew.d and this is what i think we should do during the week of metric week

  34. i think we should involve the number ten in most of the things we do

    ReplyDelete
  35. I think we should celebrate by using this opportunity to look at the importance and convenience of the metric system.

  36. we should measure are self and brake it down into km mm m and all the other measurements!; or maybe we could put all are names in a bucket and pull out 3 names and u can give #1 HOMEWORK PASS TO EACH OF THEM!, or the person that can answer a metric question and if they get it right they can get a home work pass. 37. For National Metric Week, I think that everyone should measure each other in metric units such as centi deci, etc. As Americans, we are the only ones that do not use the metric system in our every day lives so for this week we should use it as much as we can. It is similar to the worksheet we did early in September, only this makes it more exciting and fun.
Another idea I had was that we video chat with someone from another country that uses the metric system. In class, we could teach that person(s) our measurement system such as feet yards, etc. They could teach us more about the metric system and so everyone would learn something new. This would be fun because it would give us, students and opportunity to actually use the metric system in our daily lives.
    Good luck to metric week!

  38. I think we should make are one metric charts and give us homework that is (1-30)cm long.

  39. I think in metric week we should measure everyones height and graph the heights from tallest to shortest.

  40. We should have a contest of who gets the most questions (involving the metric system) right and the winner gets a prize.

  41. Maybe we could make lab about the metric system.
