ReplyDeleteI think we should have a party where we eat food, and measure things with the metric system. We should measure some food and eat at the same time. We should go outside and measure things that are outside, like a pine cone.
ReplyDeleteI think that we should use every the metric system in all classes throughout the week and no inches or feet
ReplyDeleteOctober 5, 2010
ReplyDeleteOur class should have a scavenger hunt in the room and look for things that can be measured with the metric system.

I think that you should measure a bunch of scientific objects. Then you should give us three to five choices about how much each object measures, and who ever gets the most right wins!! :)
ReplyDeleteI think we should play a game that involves the metric system. I also think that we should make a new mnemonic insted of using King Henry Died By Drinking Chocolate Milk.
ReplyDeleteI thin we should play metric system games and learn about it if people don't know what it is. I also think that we should make stuff for it.
ReplyDeleteI think we should measure different chemicals than make them into a super explosive volcano then see how far the chemicals that explode from the volcano go.
ReplyDeleteI think that we should play games using the metric system and go over it.
ReplyDeleteTo celabrate this event I think we should have a party in class. During the party we can play metric games and learn about National Metric Week.
ReplyDeleteI think that we should a.) study it a little bit on it and b.) play games based on it.
ReplyDeleteI think we should do a 10 activity make one up you have to roll dice and get an exact 10 and make a chart

For metric week, we should have to use binary whenever we would use numbers (binary, because it only uses 1's and 0's, and 10 is the basis of the metric system. Somewhat crazy I know).

For national metric week i think we should get 10 boxes of pizza and 10 boxes of cupcakes. with 10 1-liter bottles of soda. and have a METRIC PARTY!!!

Since it is metric week and is 2010 we should do something special in Science. Since I don' know to much about it I think first off we should go over what it means. Then we should play some type of fun game on the Metric system!!!
ReplyDeleteWe should celebrate National Metric Week by using the metric system more than we usually do and also, we could measure everyone using the metric system. Lastly, we could do things like throw something, and measure how far it went in centimeters.
ReplyDeletePeople should celebrate the number 10 by using the number 10 all through the day. Like pancakes in the shape of a 10 or buy 10 of everything.
ReplyDeleteWE SHOULD MAKE PLAYS ABOUT THE METRIC SYSTEM OR ..... PLAY A GAME WHERE WE EARN DIFFERETN THINGS
ReplyDeletei think that we should do a whole day of games/activities that involve the metric system and engineering/building
ReplyDeletewe should do ten of everything
ReplyDeleteI think we should play games and make posters to hang around the school letting everyone know. I also think we should do mini labs on the metric system
ReplyDeleteI think that we should measure how tall we are in cm and see what the average height is who is the tallest and shortest

We should have a big party in your class with soda and no homework or classwork just a time to talk and sleep.
ReplyDeleteevery ten minutes we should jump up and down ten times
ReplyDeleteWhat i think we should do for national metric week is to learn about why we have that day.

We should to metric week jepordy
ReplyDeleteFor National Metric Week I think we should have a whole lesson using the metric system.
ReplyDeleteI think that M.s Kaplan is very sweet and loves to help student that are stuck on something. Shes very nice, pretty, and she is the best teacher in the seventh grade so far.
ReplyDeletemeasure the perimeter of the school outside and see the result in each measurement.
ReplyDeleteI think we should look at everthing in metrics in and out of science class because it would be a great way to practice converting different measurments.
ReplyDeleteI think we should do an experiment with a question/ purpose of "do students do better on test whilw listening to music or in complete scilence?"
ReplyDeletei think we should map out the perimeter of the school. but also measure it as well? it will be a fun a and exciting lab because people will actually get to be outside and enjoying there self with there friends and partners. we could measure the school while useing these types of measurements...
ReplyDeletemeter
kilometer
hectometer
decamtre
decimeter
centimeter
millimeter
idea 2.)or we can also watch some sort of documentery on how the metric system was 1st invented and do a little report on what do you think will happen if the metric system wasn't invented? or like when did the metric system 1st originate from? etc...
idea 3.) or we just celebrate the metric week with some sort of party. the party will a course be themed metrically so i suggest like hats for people in the shape of rules or something to be festive.(drinks and food will probally be supplies by students if you ask nicely.)
i am Matthew.d and this is what i think we should do during the week of metric week
I think we should measure our hight in centimeters then we should find the average hight of our hole class. We shold do this so we can see which class is the tallest class that you teach.
ReplyDeletei think we should involve the number ten in most of the things we do
ReplyDeleteI think we should celebrate by using this opportunity to look at the importance and convenience of the metric system.
ReplyDeletewe should measure are self and brake it down into km mm m and all the other measurements!; or maybe we could put all are names in a bucket and pull out 3 names and u can give #1 HOMEWORK PASS TO EACH OF THEM!, or the person that can answer a metric question and if they get it right they can get a home work pass. P.S this is steven delbosuqe HM: library
ReplyDeleteFor National Metric Week, I think that everyone should measure each other in metric units such as centi deci, etc. As Americans, we are the only ones that do not use the metric system in our every day lives so for this week we should use it as much as we can. It is similar to the worksheet we did early in September, only this makes it more exciting and fun.
ReplyDeleteAnother idea I had was that we video chat with someone from another country that uses the metric system. In class, we could teach that person(s) our measurement system such as feet yards, etc. They could teach us more about the metric system and so everyone would learn something new. This would be fun because it would give us, students and opportunity to actually use the metric system in our daily lives.
Good luck to metric week!
I think we should make are one metric charts and give us homework that is (1-30)cm long.
ReplyDeleteI think in metric week we should measure everyones height and graph the heights from tallest to shortest.
ReplyDeleteWe should have a contest of who gets the most questions (involving the metric system) right and the winner gets a prize.
ReplyDeleteMaybe we could make lab about the metric system.
ReplyDeletei think we should do a project about the metric system
ReplyDelete~serina
I think we should measure or do a lab on the metric system. I also think we should measure ourselves in all the different measurements.
