Famous microbiologists
What can you find out about the following two scientists? Louis Pasteur Joseph Lister
~He developed the process of pasteurization,pateurization is when you heat something up really hot so that it kills all of the bacteria. ~Louis Pasteur research on how to kill virus's had soon led to sterilisation, vaccines, and than antibiotics. ~Louis Pasteur was a Professor of Chemistry at the University of Strasbourg

*Joseph Lister attended University College, London *He served as a president of the Royal Society from 1895 to 1900 *He died on February 10, 1912 in Walmer, Kent.
Louis pastuer invented pasteurization. he also was was born on December 27, 1822 and died on September 28, 1895. Finally Louis Pastuer developed the germ theroy of diease(the theroy that states dieases come from airborne microoganisms.
Joseph Lister- Joseph Lister was a british surgeon he studied wounds and all of his observations led him to consider that infections were not due to bad air alone and that wound sepsis was a form of decomposion.
Louis pasteur- Louis discovered microbiology and proved that most infectious diseases are caused by micro-organisms. This became known as the "germ theory" of disease. He also invented the process of pasteurisation which is when you heat something and it kills the germs so it is safe to eat and also developed vaccines for several diseases including rabies.
Pasteur was born in 1822. He showed that airborne microbes were the cause of disease. He also studied at the Ecole Normale in Paris and in 1843 he became a research chemist. Lister was a British surgeon. (1827-1912). For a while he researched and explored the inflammation of wounds at the Glasgow infirmary. he figured out that infections weren't because of bad air alone and that wound sepsis was a form of decomposition. (also I'm almost done with Breaking Dawn!!!!!)
