  3. I learned something pretty cool this weekend - a friend explained to me that some cell organelles that we've been studying have actually evolved from older, separate, independent prokaryotic cells (cells without nuclei). Does anyone know anything more about this? I found this great animation online that explains the theory behind this evolutionary process - check out the narrated version at http://www.sumanasinc.com/webcontent/animations/content/organelles.html
I am sure that Ms. Kaplan will teach us about prokaryotic and eukaryotic (what does that mean?) soon.
And, I think Ms. Kaplan is a great teacher, too!
