What does this mean?

This is a "piece of flair". What do you think it means? We have talked briefly about ATP before...who can figure it out?

Here is a great science blog that has a funny video on protein synthesis....the making of protein that happens in the ribosome.
Check it out.

Vacuoles in Animal Cells?

Our textbook tells us that SOME animal cells contain vacuoles. However, some sources say that animal cells do not contain traditional vacuoles at all. What they do contain are vesicles-small round containers used for storage. I have read that these vesicles are just called vacuoles for the sake of simplifying for middle school students. Helpful or inaccurate?
If you get a chance do some research and try to find out what this vacuole debate is all about? Do animal cells really not contain vacuoles at all or is "vacuole" just a general term used to describe a storage sac in any cell?

Post what you find!
